Aligned — with no one in charge
There's a word for fake federation: coordination. A coordinator — even a 'rotating' one — eventually becomes the authority everyone answers to. Real federation is resonance: independent nodes that share the same core rulebook commitments produce receipts that naturally line up. The alignment isn't directed; it just happens.
The full detailed chart. Condensed for print legibility in the book; shown here at full size.
Every federation that ships as coordination eventually centralizes — the coordinator quietly accrues power and the 'sovereign' nodes become its tenants. Resonance is the structural defense: there's no coordinator role for anyone to capture.

What this means for you
Resonance is alignment without a boss — and because there's no coordinator role, there's nothing to capture. What this means for you: you get the benefits of working with other nodes without ever handing authority to a central party, so the federation can't slowly turn into someone else's platform with you as the tenant.
Resonance is structurally defended against drifting back toward coordination:
Resonance
coordinator rolenone — nothing to capture
alignmentshared rulebook commitments
each node's authorityits own rulebook, never overridden
the federation= the convergence itself
Cultural commitment to decentralization drifts; structural absence of a coordinator does not.
For the technical reader — the command, and how to verify it yourself
# one line · you do not need to run this see walkthrough
./bl-verify # -> aligned independent nodes, no central coordinator
Full step-by-step is in Appendix RX: Hands-On Demonstrations in the book.
ⓘDeterministic demonstration. The conversation is a faithful dramatization of the exercise; the receipt is the artifact it produces — the same every time, because the system is receipted. (Representative of the demo's structure; the production page renders the captured run.) No output here is fabricated. A live "run it yourself" mode is coming.
